Discover the answer to the question: What are Pheromones in Humans?
What does “Pheromones” mean?
The word Pheromone is derived from the Greek word pheran, which means to transfer and horman, which means to excite.
In animals, Pheromones are a major form of communication between members of the same species. However, Scientists believe that in humans a major role of Pheromones is to attract a mate.
Another key point is that they also affect how others see us and how we feel about ourselves.
The definition of Pheromones is:
Pheromones are chemical substances produced and released into the environment by an animal, especially a mammal or an insect, affecting the behaviour or physiology of others of its species.
This means that, in Humans, Pheromones give off a scent that can affect the behaviour of other Humans close by.
It is the same with animals.
Can Pheromones Make You Fall In Love?
When it comes to attraction, Pheromones, play an extremely important role. However, they are undetectable through our conscious sense of smell.
When you think about it, this explains a lot.
For example: have you ever felt strongly attracted to someone, who is not the type of person you would normally be attracted to?
Perhaps a friend who is with someone who would normally be considered to be “out of their league”?
Pheromones probably have a lot to do with it!
Do Humans release Pheromones?
Pheromones are chemicals, which are produced naturally. The human body has evolved to secrete pheromones. These subconsciously send signals to other humans that are close by.
Much research has been conducted on the production of Pheromones in humans, animals and insects. Scientists from the universities of Colorado and Utah have done much work to discover how pheromones are detected.
Pheromones are picked up, subconsciously, through the Vomeronasal Organ (VNO). This is located in the nose in mammals.
Some studies have suggested that the VNO is now dormant in humans.
However, this is disputed because research has shown that the Human response to pheromones is still triggered subconsciously.
How to release Pheromones
The human body produces pheromones through sweat. Men and women give off different types of pheromones.
This means that when the opposite sex picks up these signals, a completely subconscious response is triggered in their brain.
That response draws attention and can cause arousal or other responses, depending on the Pheromone that has been released.
For example, Pheromones don’t just cause arousal. Pheromones can also break the ice between two people, or cause a group of people to relax.

How Pheromones affect attraction
A lot of research has been, and continues to be, conducted on Pheromones in an attempt to answer the following questions and more.
Questions such as:
- Can a man smell a woman pheromones?
- Can pheromones make you fall in love?
- How to emit pheromones?
- Does pheromone oil work?
To quote one respected source, the National Library of Medicine:
The results of this study suggest that exposure to natural male axillary pheromones can significantly enhance female perceptions of various aspects of male attractiveness.
We conclude that this synthesized pheromone formula acted as a sex attractant pheromone and increased the sexual attractiveness of women to men.
This study was based on young women using a manufactured Pheromone combined with their favorite perfume. However, Pheromones can be added to natural fragrances too and mixed with Essential Oils.
